Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Livantra account, preventing unauthorized access even if someone obtains your password.
Each login will require your usual password and a temporary code generated from a mobile app such as Google Authenticator.
How it works
The system combines two essential elements:
- Something you know: your password.
- Something you have: a verification code that changes every 30 seconds, generated on your mobile device.
This ensures that only you can access your account, even if someone else knows your credentials.
Activate 2FA Verification
- Log in to your Livantra account.
- Go to your profile and open the “Two-Factor Verification” tab.
- Click on “Enable Two-Step Authentication.”
- A QR code will appear on the screen.
- On your phone, open the Google Authenticator app (available on iOS and Android).
- Tap “Add new account” → “Scan QR code.”
- Scan the code displayed on Livantra.
- The app will generate a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
- Enter the code in Livantra to complete the activation.
Done! Your account is now protected with two-step authentication.
Recovery Codes
Once 2FA is activated, the system automatically generates a set of Recovery Codes.
These allow you to access your account if you lose your phone or can’t use Google Authenticator.
Important:
- Store these codes in a safe place (not on the same device as the app).
- Each code can be used only once.
- After using one, a new set of codes will be automatically generated.
Recovering access
If you lose your phone or uninstall the Authenticator app, you can regain access to your Livantra account using any of your saved Recovery Codes.
At login, enter one of these codes instead of the temporary authenticator code.
Once inside, you can reconfigure your authentication and generate new codes.
If you no longer have your recovery codes, contact Livantra Support to verify your identity and securely restore access.
Deactivate 2FA
You can disable 2FA at any time from the same section by clicking “Deactivate 2FA.”
This is only recommended if you change your device or need to reconfigure your authenticator.
Security tips
- Never share your codes or password with anyone.
- Keep recovery codes in a safe physical place.
- Avoid deactivating 2FA unless strictly necessary.
- Review your security settings regularly.
Two-Factor Authentication is the best way to keep your account and bookings secure within Livantra.
